The EPS sample shows not only the removal of all mill scale, but a consistent, uniform surface that resists rusting and provides a better base for surface finishes than either HRPO or pickled dry.

 
ecoLOGIC Steel introduces a new type
of

Hot Rolled/Hot Rolled Pickled steel that is made without acid pickling, and without the oil, offering savings and reduced pollution on downstream manufacturing processes.  With the unique surface of this product, this material also can replace Cold Rolled steel in many applications. 


Because this patented process invented by The Material Works® is so good, Eco Pickled Surface® steel is guaranteed against rust for 180 days after being produced. 

 

Instead of acid pickling, the steel is cleaned with a slurry of water and carbon steel grit that is 100% recycled.  The slurry not only cleans the hot band of any scale, it corrects many mill surface defects and is shape corrected in the process.  The result is a more uniform surface that is better for welding, forming, cutting, coating and painting.
